Merchandise Coordinator

LOCATIONS:
DESCRIPTION

Amazon’s apparel team seeks a Merchandise Coordinator to assist the Creative Production/ Styling/ Operations team at the Tokyo Fashion Studio in driving merchandise coordination improvements in studio and editorial work flow.
Responsibilities:
Manages merchandise coordination for a fast paced, high volume e-commerce fashion studio. Manages the rack building process, improves execution of standard processes, operates with autonomy, influences within a team environment.
EXECUTE HIGHLY EFFICIENT MERCHANDISE COORDINATION:
· Works closely with Styling, Production and Operation teams to build photo shoot racks.
· Follows studio guides to coordinate a wide variety of products with consistent high quality, balanced with efficiency
· Serves as an integral part of the team and has a strong understanding of the Amazon business, models and retail brands
· Decisively troubleshoots styling and fit challenges using knowledge of Amazon’s business objectives, model pool and visual brand
· Communicates daily with production, onset crew and styling assistants to ensure productivity is efficient.
· Informs styling team when there are specific styling notes pertaining to brand image and marketing initiatives.
· Navigates the casting database tool when constructing racks to eliminate reshoots based on model fit, persona error, tattoos and markings.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS
· Analyzes studio productivity and develops and implements process improvements
· Understands the flow within the studio onset and partners with studio ops and production to identify new efficiencies
· Partners with vendor managers in specific categories to get information on fit, future initiatives, and strategy
· Develops improved processes, serves as the team expert in merchandise coordination
· Assists with creating training and SOP materials
TEAM BUILDING
· Contributes to knowledge management tools such as wikis and shared drives
· Creates effective SOPs and other process documentation to facilitate task transfers and new hire onboarding
· Is continuously learning, seeking mentors and sharing knowledge with other team members
· Acts as ambassador for Amazon and refers talent; may participate in interview process for more junior positions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
* 0-2+ years of relevant work experience
* Ability to continuously manage multiple high priority tasks
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with management and outside vendors
* Proficient working knowledge computing platforms, including Microsoft Office
* Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines
* Excellent Japanese proficiency (written and verbal)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Previous experience in fashion and sample management in e-commerce photo production
* Knowledge of commercial studio workflow
* Proficiency with database management tools
*Self-driven and able to easily communicate creative ideas and collaborate in a team environment
* Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to handle heavy schedule coordination
* Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast paced environment
* Proven ability to meet stringent deadlines.
* Productivity-focused and proven to be a quick problem solver
* English proficiency (written and verbal)
