Amazon is looking for an experienced leader to manage the fashion assortment, selection and buying for Fashion. This individual will be a key member to acquire new brands and manage & negotiate with existing brands for further growth. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically, and ultimately build compelling value propositions for the customer.
The Buyer will be an owner who is analytical and solution-focused. He/she will bring a proven track record of making data-driven decisions, identifying and adding process improvements, fostering strong vendor partnerships, and advocating on behalf of customers. The candidate will have proven experience delivering results both internal and external to the organization. The successful candidate will utilize and expand skills in e-commerce business management, vendor negotiations.
Responsibilities include:
· Passionately advocate for the customer and category within Amazon.
· Manage full financial P&L of their vendor matrix.
· Develop and lead strategy for vendor negotiations.
· Represent Amazon when meeting with senior executive teams from top vendors and build long term strategic relationships.
· Develop and lead weekly, monthly, and annual buying, planning & marketing reviews.
· Cross functional collaboration on necessary systems and processes to support business needs.
· Manage the key business inputs of product assortment, selection, price, and promotion to achieve our sales and margin targets.
· Integrate strong and clear analysis and business rationale into sound decision making.
· Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects & business partnerships.
· Maintain an accurate and robust pipeline and commit to a forecast of specific business opportunities within a time period.
· Work closely with global counterparts to share best practices and learn mistakes from the others.
· Work closely with internal product management and development team to provide inputs to improve the tool sets and related infrastructure.
· Build internal and external metric reports that drive new selection.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic qualifications:
- The ideal candidate has strong business judgment with a track record of successful mass-vendor marketing/acquisition and overall relationship management.
- Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills are musts.
- Candidate must be an effective leader and communicator and a seasoned problem-solver.
- Self-motivated with a great sense of urgency and follow-through.
- Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment is essential for success.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant merchandising/business development experience required.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills in Japanese

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Conversational English is preferred
- Knowledge of the fashion industry and/or seasonal business is preferred
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
