Amazon Shoes & Bags is looking for a Head of Business Development with proven experiences in thought leadership, detailed execution, and people development to lead a growing category. As the leader of the team, you will deliver exceptional growth in sales, free cash flow, and market segment share by providing recommendations into the strategic direction for the business and leading a diverse team to execute. The Head of Business Development will be responsible for ensuring a well-articulated business strategy with mechanisms, building and expanding mass vendor relationships, improving margin, managing pricing, leading operational process improvements, and turn/instock optimization for the various categories and vendors.
The candidate will be directly responsible for leading three distinct teams: Retail In-Stock Management, 3P business and Retail growth initiatives. The leader will have a direct and important role in delivering a world-class customer experiences and exceptional sales and margin growth of total Shoes & Bags business.

・8-10 years of post-degree business development experience in the internet, mobile device and/or high-tech and retail industries
・Ability to think strategically, innovatively and creatively using sound business judgment and quantitative skills
・Strong negotiation skills with history of proven success at high level negotiations
・Outstanding presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional audiences
・Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
・Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs
・Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strong bias for action
・Passion for metrics and quantitative analysis, and ability to turn analysis into actionable programs
・Strong problem solving, attention to detail and solid organizational skills
・Street smarts and willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what is necessary
・Experience of managing people and skills to effectively direct team’s efforts toward goals
・Business level English and native level Japanese language skills required
・BA/BS required

・Ecommerce experience preferred
・Consumables experience preferred
・Proven experience leading teams & cross-functional projects.
・An M.B.A. or equivalent masters degree is a plus
・Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills that enable you to earn trust at all levels.
・Superior analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems. In particular, identifying customer needs and inventing new ways to meet those needs
