Senior Technical Program Manager

We are seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead our and Product Q&A programs at Alexa Shopping. This is a strategic role to shape our product directions and technical strategy in coordinating, developing and launching new product Q&A experiences that meet a high-quality bar. We define, measure and chase both questions understanding and answer quality metric across various Alexa and Amazon retail and building new Alexa experiences that delight our customers every day. Hence, this role requires working closely with business, engineering, science and design within Alexa and across Amazon Consumer to deliver groundbreaking features that meet our quality bar. You will lead high visibility program collaborating with various teams across Amazon and will own regular communication with senior leadership on technology, dependency management, risk mitigation and program health.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
·
· 10+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry, including hands-on management of large, cross-functional software efforts
·
· Ability to conceptualize complex interrelated applications and system platforms, as well as the ability to effectively communicate those systems to non-technical team members and business partners
·
· Strong bias for action and a "get it done" attitude
·
· Experience of working with remote teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
· Background in distributed systems and machine learning
· Background and experience in Natural Language Understanding and speech systems
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information and negotiate tradeoffs with a variety of audiences
· Experience in driving multiple, cross-functional teams
